We support ambulance services

A partner in organisational development

Since 2002, Ortivus has played a central role in supporting UK ambulance services through this transformation. At the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), MobiMed ePR is integrated with the Epic electronic health record system, enabling smooth transfer of patient information between ambulance and hospital. By sending structured patient data and ECG readings in real time before the ambulance arrives, receiving teams can prepare the appropriate resources and perform more efficient triage, which is crucial for getting ambulances back on the road faster.

Reducing information loss during emergency handovers

This type of integration strengthens continuity of care and reduces the risk of information loss during critical handovers. At the same time, Ortivus supports the NHS’s goal of reducing unnecessary hospital transports. With MobiMed’s advanced clinical decision support and access to real-time patient history, ambulance teams can determine the correct level of care on-site with greater accuracy. This not only eases pressure on emergency departments but also ensures that every patient receives the most appropriate care.

Strong global presence

Ortivus currently has a strong international presence, with customers and partners across several markets, including UK, Sweden and Singapore. Since 2002, we have supported UK ambulance organisations and the National Health Service in their digital transformation, and the MobiMed platform is currently used by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), and the South Western Ambulance Service (SWAS). The company has established a trusted position and supplies MobiMed to 17 of Sweden’s 21 regions, making it a key player in the digitalisation of Swedish pre-hospital care. In Singapore, our technology is used by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) through our strategic partner ST Engineering.

Community care

Hospital at home

MobiMed has become a key tool in enabling mobile ways of working across both primary care and home care. By implementing the proven technology used in ambulance services within mobile care teams and home visits, doctors can assess patient data remotely and make qualified clinical evaluations directly in the patient’s home.

This development aligns closely with the NHS’s continued expansion of Virtual Wards, also known as Hospital-at-Home programmes, which have been introduced to reduce pressure on acute care services and help address elective care backlogs. By late 2025 and early 2026, the NHS had reported a capacity of approximately 12,673 virtual beds, enabling patients to receive hospital-level care, including remote monitoring and clinical support, within their own homes.

Future vision

The NHS’s 10-Year Health Plan (2026) further reinforces this direction through a digital-first strategy aimed at shifting more acute services out of traditional hospital settings in order to reduce pressure on emergency departments and improve patient flow across the healthcare system.

Care closer to the patient

With MobiMed Monitor, you can perform advanced examinations right in your patient’s home. You’ll receive vital signs and ECG readings in real time, allowing you to assess the data remotely and make informed decisions instantly. Through our secure video conferencing solution, Pexip, you can communicate directly with the hospital doctor and even prescribe medications on the spot. All patient data integrates into the hospital’s medical record system. This helps reduce unnecessary hospital visits, improve continuity of care, and create greater reassurance for both patients and healthcare professionals.
