Ortivus secures two-year contract extension with South Western Ambulance Service (SWASFT)

Ortivus AB is pleased to announce that the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) has exercised its option to extend its existing agreement with Ortivus for an additional two (2) years. The extended contract will remain in effect until 9th June 2027.

SWASFT provides emergency medical services across one of the largest geographical areas in England, serving a population of more than 5.5 million people. The Trust responds to over one million incidents each year and operates a fleet of more than 900 vehicles, delivering critical care across a diverse mix of urban, rural, and coastal environments.

As part of the agreement, Ortivus continues to supply MobiMed ePR, a state-of-the-art electronic patient record system that supports frontline clinicians with real-time documentation and clinical decision support. The system is fully integrated with NHS Spine services, including the National Care Records Service (NCRS) and local hospital systems, enabling secure, real-time access to essential patient information across care settings.

The system also includes integration with SWASFT’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, which enables the automatic population of mission-critical data, such as incident location, time, and unit details, directly into the patient record. This longstanding integration helps streamline clinical workflows, enhance data accuracy, and reduce administrative workload during emergency response.

Additionally, MobiMed integrates with a multi-parameter monitor and defibrillator, enabling the automated transfer of vital signs, such as ECG, heart rate, and blood pressure — into the ePR. This reduces manual data entry, supports clinical accuracy, and helps clinicians focus on patient care.

By leveraging these advanced integrations, MobiMed supports SWASFT in improving operational efficiency, enabling timely and informed clinical decisions, and ultimately enhancing patient safety and outcomes.

Tim Bishop, Chief Digital Information Officer at SWASFT, added:

“We are pleased to be able to continue our longstanding relationship with Ortivus through this two-year extension. An effective and productive electronic patient care record system is fundamental to providing the quality patient care that those using SWASFT’s services deserve. We look forward to using and further developing MobiMed to achieve this aim.”

Elias Obaid, Global Sales Manager at Ortivus, commented:
“We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with SWASFT through this contract extension. Our collaboration, built on over a decade of mutual trust, reflects SWASFT’s confidence in the value and reliability of our MobiMed solution. Looking ahead, we see significant opportunities to evolve the technology even further and we’re excited to work closely with SWASFT to drive innovation and deliver the next generation of prehospital care together.”

Ortivus has supported SWASFT through a long-standing partnership since 2013, with the current contract, originally signed in 2020, recently extended. This extension marks a continued commitment to advancing the Trust’s digital transformation and further strengthened Ortivus’ commitment to advancing prehospital care across the UK. The value of the two-year extension amounts to 27.7 million SEK.
