Ortivus Secures Two-Year Contract Extension with South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS)

SCAS ambulance nurses using MobiMed

Ortivus AB is pleased to announce that South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) has exercised its option to extend its existing agreement with Ortivus for an additional two (2) years. The extended contract will remain in effect until 29 July 2027.

SCAS provides emergency medical services across a diverse and densely populated region in southern England, serving over 7 million people. The Trust handles hundreds of thousands of incidents annually and operates a fleet of vehicles delivering urgent and emergency care across a wide mix of urban and rural environments.

Under the renewed agreement, Ortivus will continue to supply MobiMed ePR, a leading electronic patient record system designed to support clinicians on the frontline with real-time documentation and clinical decision-making. Fully integrated with NHS Spine services, including the National Care Records Service (NCRS), MobiMed enables secure, real-time access to vital patient information across care settings.

Craig Ellis, Chief Digital Information Officer at SCAS, added: “We are pleased to be able to continue our longstanding relationship with Ortivus through this two-year extension. An effective and productive electronic patient care record system is fundamental to providing the quality patient care that those using SCAS’s services deserve. We look forward to using and further developing MobiMed to achieve this aim.

MobiMed is also seamlessly connected with SCAS’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, allowing critical mission data such as incident location, dispatch time, and responding unit details to be automatically populated into the patient record. This integration helps streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and reduce administrative tasks during emergency responses.

Further enhancing clinical support, the MobiMed system integrates with multi-parameter monitors and defibrillators to automatically capture and transfer vital signs such as ECG, heart rate, and blood pressure directly into the ePR. This significantly reduces manual entry and supports clinicians in maintaining focus on patient care.

Through these integrated capabilities, MobiMed enables SCAS to enhance operational efficiency, improve the quality and timeliness of clinical decisions, and ultimately contribute to better patient safety and outcomes.

Elias Obaid, Global Sales Manager at Ortivus, said: “This contract extension is a strong endorsement of our continued collaboration with SCAS and the trust they place in our solutions. MobiMed plays a key role in supporting high-quality prehospital care, and we’re excited to keep driving innovation together. Our focus remains on delivering technology that empowers clinicians and enhances patient outcomes across the UK.”

Ortivus has supported SCAS since 2013 through a longstanding and collaborative partnership. The current contract, originally signed in 2020, has now been extended, reaffirming both parties’ commitment to advancing digital transformation in prehospital care. The value of the two-year extension is approximately 16.8 million SEK.
